SeniORGarden adopts a unique approach to promoting environmental sustainability, specifically targeting seniors and their families. The program not only introduces an engaging way to strengthen European identity by educating participants on the EU’s Green Deal, but also encourages physical activity through gardening improving physical health, enhancing mental well-being through the joy of nurturing growth, and fostering healthier habits by promoting the consumption of organic food.
The initiative also bridges the generational gap by creating opportunities for meaningful interaction with younger people and introducing seniors to new technologies. Additionally, it offers valuable moments of socialization with peers from different EU countries.
By placing gardening at the heart of the learning process, SeniORGarden presents an enjoyable and accessible alternative to traditional, theory-heavy education methods particularly appealing to seniors who may find conventional approaches less engaging.

Scope
SeniORGarden aims to empower seniors to stay socially and physically active by creating organic gardens that incorporate eco-friendly practices and smart technologies. The project seeks to bridge the generational gap and promote the exchange of skills and knowledge.
To achieve this, the development of the gardens will follow a participatory approach, with seniors collaborating alongside younger generations.
Target
Despite the rapid advancement of new technologies, many seniors are left behind, lacking basic digital competencies that could enhance their daily lives with greater ease and comfort. Furthermore, they often face limited access to learning opportunities, particularly in areas of high relevance to the EU. As a result, they are excluded from the experience of building a European identity and fully embracing their role as European citizens.
Impact
In addition to developing the Organic Garden Training Materials and creating and maintaining organic gardens, SeniORGarden aims to familiarize seniors with the European Green Deal. This will help them understand the importance of environmental protection and the need for a sustainable lifestyle to support healthy, active aging.

A comprehensive report outlining the current state of organic gardening practices in the partners’ countries.
Gardening Guidelines for Seniors
Step-by-step instructions on planting and nurturing organic herbs and vegetables, including a section on recommended smart gardening apps.
Train-the-Trainer Materials
Resources and materials designed to train educators and facilitators, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.

Kick-Off Meeting in Torino!
